Our New Jersey team, powerhouses Jennifer Talley and Katie McDonough, will present MSJDN’s petition for rule change to the full New Jersey Supreme Court on May 27. The pair was invited to give comment after their response to the full Civil Practice Committee’s report on military spouse admission. They will be presenting MSJDN’s position in front of the full panel of justices, who will then take the matter under advisement.

The Civil Practice Committee’s report on admission for qualified military spouse attorneys included concerns about the number of people that would be affected by such a rule, the availability of attorneys available to supervise those admitted under a military spouse rule, and the perceived danger of opening the door to traditional reciprocity. The report submitted by MSJDN member Katie McDonough responds to each of the concerns raised by the committee’s report, and you can read it here.

On May 12, Jennifer met with New Jersey Senator Cory Booker at “Coffee with Cory,” an event for New Jersey residents at his Senate offices. She took the opportunity to educate Sen. Booker on MSJDN’s efforts in New Jersey.

Join us in wishing Jennifer and Katie good luck on May 27!
