
On Sunday, July 12, 2015, during MSJDN’s annual Strategic Planning weekend at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, Virginia, MSJDN President Eleanor Vuono presented Communications Director and Board Member Libby Jamison with the inaugural Mary Reding Smith Excellence in Leadership Award. Named for MSJDN’s Founder and first president, the award recognizes a leader who goes above and beyond for the organization.
MSJDN’s Immediate Past President, Rachel Winkler, remarked that: “Libby Jamison sets the standard for MSJDN leadership.” She added that Libby’s “tireless dedication to serving our members is exemplified by her willingness to tackle new projects like improving our existing infrastructure, providing ample ways for members to engage, and identifying meaningful opportunities to share MSJDN’s story.”
MSJDN President Eleanor Vuono noted that: “Libby’s creative talents have highlighted MSJDN on the national stage. Through her communications leadership and as MSJDN’s all-around technology guru, we have received outstanding recognition for our website, blog, and newsletter.” Summing up Libby’s leadership role over the past several years with MSJDN, Eleanor added that: “Libby has been central to our success as an organization and her tireless dedication to the mission is an inspiration to all.”
After being presented with the award, Libby stated that: “It’s an honor to be recognized, especially in an incredible group of leaders like we have with MSJDN.” She added that, “It’s an even greater honor to work with military spouse attorneys every day, and I look forward to another amazing year advocating for military families.”
