Military Spouse JD Network is now accepting nominations for the 2016 Exceptional Service Award through Friday, September 23, 2016.  The Exceptional Service Award is designated to recognize an MSJDN member who exemplifies service to others in the workplace or community.  Previous winners demonstrate an unwavering commitment to the legal profession and their communities whose service continues to go beyond the call of duty.  (Click here to nominate an Exceptional Service Award candidate: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ExceptionalSvc16)

In 2015, MSJDN honored Lizanne Carlson, a legal aid attorney and Air Force spouse, for service in representing victims of domestic violence and refusing to let demands of the military lifestyle deter her passion for representing low-income individuals and families. MSJDN previously honored Jenna Grassbaugh, Judge Advocate General and Gold Star Spouse, who created the Ohio State University Captain Jonathan D. Grassbaugh Veterans Project in 2014 and Josie Beets, a staunch legal aid attorney and pro bono advocate, in 2013. Beets now serves as MSJDN President on the 2016-17 Board of Directors. (https://msjdn.org/2016/05/2016-2017leadership/).

One of the deserving military spouse attorneys from the nominees will be awarded the Exceptional Service Award during lunch at MSJDN’s Make the Right Moves conference, October 21, 2016 in Washington, D.C.
