Military Spouse JD Network is now accepting nominations for the 2017 Exceptional Service and Volunteer Service Awards through Friday, August 18th.

Janet Arnott accepting the 2016 MSJDN Exceptional Service Award

The Exceptional Service Award recognizes a MSJDN member who exemplifies service to others in the workplace or community. This year marks the 5th anniversary of this award. Previous winners demonstrate an unwavering commitment to the legal profession and their communities whose service continues to go beyond the call of duty.  In 2016, MSJDN recognized Janet Arnott, a law clerk and Marine veteran spouse, for her service and advocacy on behalf of wounded servicemembers and caregivers. In 2015, MSJDN honored Lizanne Carlson, a legal aid attorney and Air Force spouse, for service in representing victims of domestic violence and refusing to let demands of the military lifestyle deter her passion for representing low-income individuals and families.  MSJDN also previously honored Jenna Grassbaugh, Judge Advocate General and Gold Star Spouse, who created the Ohio State University Captain Jonathan D. Grassbaugh Veterans Project. Click here to nominate an Exceptional Service Award candidate.

MSJDN is proud to announce a new award this year recognizing the extraordinary efforts of a military spouse attorney who has volunteered countless hours and their talent to fulfilling MSJDN’s mission of improving the lives of military families and supporting military spouse attorneys.  MSJDN is fueled by volunteer power and the MSJDN Volunteer Service Award acknowledges and celebrates the dedication of those volunteers.
