The Military Spouse JD Network Foundation invites YOU to our Annual Reception on Thursday, May 17, 2018, in Washington, D.C. This year’s event will be at McDermott, Will & Emery, 500 N. Capitol Street NW from 6 to 8 p.m.
The Annual Reception, one of MSJDN’s signature annual events, recognizes both military spouses who balance a legal career with the unique demands of the military lifestyle, as well as the employers who support those military spouse attorneys.
The first half of the event is a reception, allowing attendees to connect with community leaders as well as other MSJDN members. The second half of the event features a program and awards, hosted this year by outgoing President Libby Jamison and President-Elect Kathering Goyette. We will recognize a MSJDN member with the Professional Excellence Award for significant contributions to the profession. Past recipients include Rebecca Bresnik, Assistant Chief Counsel for International Affairs at NASA, and Donna Huneycutt, co-owner and COO of Wittenberg Weiner Consulting. We will also present the Homefront to Hired and Members’ Choice awards to partners and supporters who have demonstrated meaningful support to military spouse attorneys. MSJDN has been proud to honor organizations including Prudential, the Army Office of The Judge Advocate, Vinson & Elkins, Squire Patton Boggs, and the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation.
It is MSJDN’s 7th year of supporting military spouse attorneys, and it has been a busy one. In 2017, we celebrated four more state licensing victories, and we’ve already seen three in 2018, bringing the grand total to 30 jurisdictions (29 states and 1 U.S. territory) with licensing accommodations for military spouse attorneys! MSJDN has also been hard at work expanding the Homefront to Hired initiative to connect with more employers committed to hiring and retaining military spouse attorneys. We look forward to celebrating 7 years of support for military spouse attorneys with you on May 17th!
