Ten years ago, Military Spouse JD Network was founded with the novel idea of changing licensing rules to allow military spouses to continue their legal careers while accompanying their service member spouse from state to state. Since then, and only through the tireless effort of countless volunteers and with steadfast support from our partners, we have broken down barriers to employment for military spouse attorneys around the world.
As our organization grew, our advocacy efforts have expanded to other initiatives supporting our military community, including providing free legal assistance to Gold Star families, training military spouses to get involved in the political arena, building relationships with corporate and government partners to get our members hired, and so much more.

All of these efforts are possible only through the generous donations of our sponsors and supporters. Your donations allow us to continue working to remove the hurdles and barriers that impede the success of military spouses. The MSJDN 2023 Inaugural Gala was a grand affair that unfolded at the historic Army Navy Country Club in Arlington Virginia. It brought together over 100 MSJDN members, Honorees, stakeholders, and sponsors for an exceptional evening of celebration and commemoration.
The core of the evening was the recognition of our esteemed Honorees. Their exceptional contributions to our community were celebrated through touching videos and heartfelt speeches. These moments served as a poignant reminder of the strength and impact of our members and leadership.
The gala fostered connections and conversations throughout the evening not only about how much MSJDN has accomplished but about new ways to eliminate the barriers and hurdles faced by military spouse attorneys. Attendees mingled, shared ideas, and established new bonds, underscoring the power of our unified community.
Surprises and moments of delight punctuated the evening as our attendees were treated to riveting speeches and videos from our keynote and honorees. But the evening also touched on the very serious issues of military spouse career and financial insecurity with an address from the First Lady, Dr. Jill Biden, and a speech by MSJDN’s President, Claire Gibson both making it clear that these issues are national security issues.
As the gala concluded, it marked not an end but the beginning of a new chapter for MSJDN entering its second decade. The legacy of this extraordinary evening will serve as a constant source of inspiration and unity within our community.
A special acknowledgment is due to our sponsors, whose unwavering support and commitment made this event possible. Their generosity and belief in our mission elevated the gala, enabling us to celebrate our community’s remarkable talents and resilience.
