On December 23, 2024, President Joe Biden signed FY25 NDAA into law, bringing hard-fought and momentous professional strides for military spouse attorneys and MSJDN. While previous language excluded the legal profession from Sec. 587, “Improvements Relating to Portability of Professional Licenses of Servicemembers and Their Spouses,” the FY25 NDAA signed by President Biden does not exclude licensed attorneys from licensing relief. MSJDN members Nicolle Vasquez Del Favero and Megan Konzen were instrumental in advocating on behalf of military spouse attorneys, and the exclusionary language would not have been removed without their dedication and tireless efforts!
