Dear MSJDN Members,
Making the Right Moves is right around the corner….do you have your ticket? I’m looking forward to this year’s day of development in sunny San Diego.
This year’s full day event features some incredibly impressive leaders from the California legal and military communities, as well as honorable judges in town for the National Association of Women Judges Annual Conference including Col. (Ret.) Linda Murnane, who currently works at The Hague.
I’m particularly excited about our panel featuring Ms. JD President Katie Larkin-Wong discussing the ABA Commission on Women and the Law’s Grit Project which educates lawyers about the science behind grit and growth mindset – two important traits that many successful women lawyers have in common. These are tools that will also help all military spouses as they build successful careers as we move all around the world.
We are holding the first Homefront Rising panel to learn from political experts about the best way to directly engage in the political process and take the first steps towards running for office. We are also hearing from Coronado Mayor Casey Tanaka about the unique relationship his city has with the military community.
You can learn more about the rest of the day’s panelists and events – including our networking luncheon in the following articles and at www.msjdn.org/events.
Look forward to seeing you there!
Thank you for your service to MSJDN,
Rachel Winkler
