Military Spouse J.D. Network is pleased to announce that Kari-Lynn Wenciker has accepted the role as State Licensing Chair. MSJDN’s state licensing initiative is run by a committee of state directors working with teams of volunteers to implement strategic state licensing initiatives on a state-by-state basis. Kari-Lynn will oversee the committee, working closely with the state directors and the MSJDN board to continue the organization’s success in enacting licensing accommodations for military spouse attorneys across the country.
Kari-lynn is currently living at Fort Belvoir, VA, with her husband, Jeffrey, a Chief Warrant Officer in the Coast Guard, and their two children. She graduated cum laude from Seattle University School of Law and holds a Master’s in Nonprofit Leadership, also from Seattle University.
Most recently, Kari-lynn worked as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Pierce County, Washington (home to Joint Base Lewis-McChord). While at Pierce County, her primary area of practice was domestic violence. Prior to her work as a prosecutor, Ms. Wenciker was a government affairs consultant. She successfully represented clients to state, federal, and local governments on a variety of issues including taxation, environment, and land use. Ms. Wenciker also served in several campaigns, including as a National Advance Team member for Gore/Lieberman.
MSJDN thanks Kari-lynn for stepping up to lead! Interested in joining Kari-lynn and the rule change committee? There is still a need for state directors in several jurisdictions. In addition, volunteers are needed to support state directors around the country. Email statelicensing@msjdn.org to get involved in changing the lives of military spouse attorneys!
